What did you want to be when you were a kid?
When I was a kid, I wanted to be an astronaut. Space is something my Dad is interested in, so he passed it down to me! I still admire space and the stars.
Where'd you grow up? School?
I was born in Newark, Delaware and moved to Janesville, WI when I was about 3. I spent most of my elementary years in Janesville until my family moved to Sheboygan, WI about 10 years ago. I attended and graduated from Sheboygan North High School. I then went to college two hours away at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater.
Biggest pet peeve?
I hate the sound of ripping fabric. Ever since I was a kid, I couldn’t stand the noise and it always bothered me. My mom is also a sewer, so I unfortunately have heard it a lot.
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
I would love to be able to speak every language! I love to travel and speaking the language of where I am would open me up to so many more experiences and cultures.
What is the first concert you attended?
The first concert I attended was the band U2. I went with my parents and sister in Chicago when I was a kid.
What music is on your iPhone/Android phone?
I use Spotify on my iPhone, but I have quite a few playlist I’ve created and listen to. My music taste ranges from Rock to Alternative to Indie and some pop.
Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
The best place I’ve traveled to was Ireland. Just after I graduated from college, I went on a 3 week trip across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. I saw all the touristy places, but also the country side and remote locations. I was amazing learning about and exploring more than just the big cities.
What’s the last movie you saw that you really enjoyed?
I recently watched All of Us Strangers with Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal. It is about Adam (Andrew Scott) who is a screenwriting attempting to write about his parents who have passed as he starts to develop a relationship with Harry (Paul Mescal). Both Andrew and Paul were fantastic in it, and I highly recommend the movie!
What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity?
I love board games and puzzles. I am still working on a huge 3000 piece Where’s Waldo puzzle I was given for Christmas! It is really calming to put music on in my headphones and chip away at a puzzle. I also play a lot of board games with my friends and family. I just recently learned how to play Catan, and enjoyed it a lot!

Hello! My name is Maddy Albanese! I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater with a double major in Film Studies and Communications with an emphasis in Electronic Media. I also have certifications in Video Production, Audio Production, and LGBTQ Studies. I enjoy any sort of creative project, so I am excited to be starting as the Web and Graphic Design Intern at ASI!
I grew up in Sheboygan, WI and before UW Whitewater, I gradated from Sheboygan North High School. I currently live in Sheboygan after graduation with my family and 2 black cats.
