From starting as a Programmer and now in a manager role, Sue has made many remarkable impacts over the years here at ASI. In fact, this month marks her 17th completed year with ASI! Say whaaat!?!! We appreciate everything she does day in and day out and are forever thankful.
We decided to get to know her a little better and share with everyone! See if you can spot the ones that caught our eye…
- Where’d you grow up? West Bend
- Any pets? Dog – Izzie is ten years old
- One thing you can’t resist? DOGS (and sometimes cats)
- Favorite Quote (movie or life, mantra)? If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you
- Biggest pet peeve? When I’m angry and my family doesn’t take me seriously! 😉 See #38
- What’s the most interesting thing that has happened to you? I got rear-ended by a guy who had a pig in his back seat (We want to hear this story too!!)
- If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? Speak multiple languages
- When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time? Who has free time??
- What music is on your iPhone/Android phone? I love a variety of music
- How do you balance your career and family? I couldn’t do it without my family – they do a ton!
- What is your greatest fear? Heights
- Where is your favorite place to be? The beach!
- Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why? Alaska – the scenery is breathtaking
- What’s your guilty pleasure? I am addicted to puzzles and reading!
- What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done? Spinnaker sailing in Mexico and Go Ape Treetop Adventure & Zipline in South Carolina (remember I’m terrified of heights, so I had to rely on my mantra (#4) to do this). Glad I did it, but I don’t need to do it again!!
- What’s your secret talent that no one knows about? I can’t tell you because then you’d know (and I’d be embarrassed)!
- What was the last experience that made you a stronger person? Leaving my oldest daughter at college
- Have you ever had something happen to you that you thought was terrible, but it turned out to be for the best? I got laid off from my job when I was six months pregnant, but later that same year, I ended up getting hired at ASI!
- What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13? Be confident!
- How has ASI helped you in your career development? ASI was willing to give me a shot at being a manager even though I had no experience
- If you could switch your job with anyone else within ASI, whose job would you want? I guess the only place to go is up 😉
- What do you find the most challenging at ASI? COVID – missing co-workers
- What do you like most about ASI? Our family atmosphere
- What is the favorite part about working for ASI? The people!
- Are you messy or organized? I love to organize 😊
- Do you have an office nickname? What is it? Mom
- Favorite travel spot? Anywhere, I LOVE to travel
- If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would you like to see cast as you? John Travolta in Hair Spray (this answer was weirdly quick from my daughter…?)
- Tell us a little bit about your family. They always make me laugh
- Tell us something about your family that might surprise us. They’re quite disgusting sometimes!
- What do you like to do in your spare time? Decorate, re-decorate, organize, home projects
- What does true leadership mean to you? Mentoring employees and motivating them to be their best
- What is on your bucket list? Should have been Hawaii for Christmas 2020
- What is the greatest challenge you have had to overcome in your life thus far? Shyness
- What is the most important thing you have learned in the last five years? Life is short – enjoy every minute
- What is the one thing you can’t live without? Dental Floss, my Apple watch (so I can find my iPhone 😉)
- What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten? Rocky Mountain Oysters
- What is your family like? HILARIOUS!
- What is your favorite meal? Any meal with my family because we laugh SO HARD!
- What is your favorite thing to do? Play Twister
- What would be the title of your autobiography? My Beautiful 17-Year-Old Daughter 😆
- When was the last time you laughed so hard you cried? Weekly!
