Happy one-year anniversary to Josh! As one of the most up-beat, positive personalities in the office, there’s nothing Josh won’t do to help out a friend and teammate. Previously, Josh attended St. Norbert College where he graduated with degrees in Computer Science and Math. He was also very active with his fraternity, Phi Delta Theta, and many other groups and clubs on campus.
That activism really came to light when we sat down to ask him 20 (ish) questions! See for yourself…
- Where’d you grow up? School? I grew up in Elmwood, WI, with a population of 814 as of the 2000 census so I was in the same building for school elementary through high school. Talk about knowing your neighbors!
- Hobbies/pets/fun fact that not many people know? I have a ton of houseplants and a goldfish named Ziva (if you know you know, if you don’t, see #18).
- Favorite memory from work? The Christmas party! It was great to meet everyone’s spouses and see everyone outside of work.
- What do you do/what does your day consist of? I’m a part of one of the larger teams here at ASI! We help with the upkeep of the client’s legacy systems while they implement and move everything over to their new system.
- One thing you can’t resist? A chance to hang out with friends.
- Favorite Quote (movie or life, mantra)? “Be the person you needed when you were younger.” –Ayesha Siddiqi
- Favorite podcast? The Jenna and Julien podcast (which unfortunately just ended on the 17th…).
- Favorite piece of technology you own and why? My cell phone! I like feeling connected to the world and people and it provides me that outlet.
- What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this? I would be working with student organizations on college campuses hopefully!
- If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do? Call a financial planner so I can utilize it to its full potential.
- What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity? Indoors–sleeping or watching YouTube; outdoors–photography, hiking, and kayaking!
- What is the first concert you attended? I’ve never been to a concert! Summerfest this year was supposed to be my first venture…
- What chore do you absolutely hate doing? Vacuuming/sweeping (thanks for the Robot vacuum, mom!)
- What is your greatest fear? My 2 greatest fears are either that I’m going to drop something down a sewer grate, or when I’m standing on the edge of like a tall structure, that the wind will blow me over.
- Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why? So far, the tip of Door County! The sights were incredible, but pictures don’t do it justice.
- What’s the last movie you saw that you really enjoyed? Bohemian Rhapsody
- What’s your guilty pleasure? Macaroni and Cheese!
- What is the one TV Show you can rewatch endlessly? NCIS (see #2), I used to watch it all the time with my mom and sister.
- What’s the best meal you’ve ever had? I went to a conference for my college fraternity where they served filet mignon and rattlesnake oil soup? I didn’t understand it but it was incredible.
- If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Forest Green!
- What is your favorite family tradition? Coming home and always having stroganoff or goulash
- At what age did you become an adult? 23, I finally had to schedule my own appointments!
- Are you messy or organized? I’m an organized mess.
- Do you have an office nickname? What is it? Yes—Jeesh
- If given a chance, who would you like to be for a day? Jane Goodall
- If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would you like to see cast as you? Ideally it would be one of the Hemsworth brothers, but it would probably end up being Jonah Hill haha! I’ve been told I look like Luke Combs too.
- If you could only drink one beer for the rest of your life, what would it be? Natural light, what a classy brew (heavy sarcasm). Probably Spotted Cow.
- If you were stuck on an island what three things would you bring? A laptop with satellite internet (I wouldn’t use it to escape), sunscreen, and tropical drinks with the little umbrellas.
- What did you want to be when growing up? I wanted to work in a zoo as the person who feeds animals!
- What is on your bucket list? Visit Disney during Halloween
- What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery? Homes/upgrades for my family (after paying off the student loans of course).
- What is the most important thing you have learned in the last five years? Still working on internalizing it, but you don’t always need to be correct.
As you can tell, Josh is definitely a go-getter! In fact, when asked to give us around 20 questions about him, he got back to us with over 30—incredible! Thanks for all you do, Josh!!
